This quote is the way Janie feels about Tea Cake. After she kills him, is when this is said. She misses the way things were with him. She regrets killing him, but knows it was in self defense. It seems like she doesn't want him out of her head. She wants to remember the way things were, and how good it was. The court hearing made Janie think about Tea Cake. She misses him a lot.
